Timing by AMB

Similar to Formula 1 Grand Prix racing MakoTrac also features full electronic time keeping facilities. All 40 karts are fitted with a transponder carrying an individual identification number which is recognised by an antenna embedded in the race track. The signal is sent to a central computer which will record the kart's lap times, number of laps completed and the total running time. Lap times are clocked to 1/1000th of a second. After each 8-minute session a racer will receive a computer print-out with all personal data, lap times and total running time (download sample sheet).

Spectators can viewa racer's progress and lap times on monitor screens located on the viewing terrace as well as in the Cafeteria.

The monitor will also show a photographic display of the drivers in a 1-2-3 podium format.

All 2 and 3 Star as well as 3 Star Extreme karts carry an on-board steering wheel mounted AMB digital tacho display, enabling the driver to keep an eye on his consistency and performance as to his lap times. Silver and Gold Star karts are fitted with an Alfano digital computer, located on the steering wheel, enabling the driver tocontrol his times, engine temperature, lap count and overall running time.
